NEW TIP OF WEEK! REVERSE SNEEZING
Reverse Sneezing
A reverse sneeze can sound very scary and has brought many dogs into the emergency clinic. Fortunately, it is rarely serious and is the result of an irritation in a dog’s throat causing a spasm. As a result, the trachea narrows and your dog will extend his neck as he tries harder to inhale.
Commonly, an irritation of the throat causes the spasm. It can be brought on by pollen, tugging on a leash, mites, allergies, chemical smells and other strong scents. Smaller dogs are more likely to exhibit the revere sneeze due to a smaller throat and airway.
The spasm generally abates quickly and no treatment is required.
